Botanical name: Commiphora kua
Common names: Myrrh
Family: Burseraceae
Parts used: Resin
Socotran Myrrh is an absolute favourite here at Herbal Dimensions!
It is endemic to the island of Socotra. The resin has a red hue instead of the brown colour of the resin of mainland Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha).
The Myrrh from Socotra is no "traditional" Myrrh. The scent is heavy, musky, spicy, seductive & warm. It has some sweet high notes not found in traditional Myrrh. It is not as bitter either and is exceptionally clean. It is a potent natural antiseptic & has sedative properties.

How to Use:
Resins can be burnt for incense purposes on charcoal discs available HERE.
